Why is Amazon Herb Co. the solution?

The Amazon Rainforest is home to:

  • 30% of all the oxygen you breathe.
  • More species of plants and animals than all other ecosystems combined (at least 6 million).
  • 80% of all the earth’s vegetation.
  • Plants used as treatments and cures for hundreds of diseases.
  • 70% of all plants are active against cancer.
  • The highest concentration of life energy on earth.
  • Over 3,000 fruits of which only 200 are used in the western world.

Unfortunately, the destruction of the Amazon Rainforest is our planet's most threatening environmental concern.
Overall, deforestation accounts for about 17 percent of man-made emissions each year - more than all cars, airplanes, trains, and ships in the world put together.  Of the estimated original 4 billion acres of Rainforest, only about 2.7 billion remain, over the last 50 years more than half of the world’s tropical rainforests have been destroyed. We are losing approx. 75 acres of rainforest per minute (that is equivalent to 6 football fields!), 108,000 acres per day, and over 39 million acres per year!
Studies show that all rainforests will practically disappear within 50 years if no action is taken.

Fortunately, we have the answer! John Easterling and Amazon Herb Co. were recognized as “the strongest testament that keeping the Rainforest alive and productive is more economically profitable than cutting it down” while being featured as a visionary on Jean-Michel Cousteau’s 2008 documentary Ocean Adventures "Return to the Amazon".  Over the past 19 years, Amazon Herb Co. has had ample time to perfect their ecologically sustainable business practices and life-changing plant products, and at end of 2008 they set themselves up for heavy expansion.  The company's mission is to change the course of history in the Amazon with their growth.

This is possible because they:

  • provide a mutually beneficial connection between the rainforest itself, the economy of it’s indigenous people, and the world community at large.
  • give 10% of all company profits towards providing the indigenous population with education, clean energy, and garnering an increasing amount of their land titles which keeps them on their land and protects the land forever.
  • have already protected a million acres of native land, and are ready to expand into the entire rainforest with their growth.

Amazon Herb Co. is the solution to protect the Amazon Rainforest and they are ready for huge growth – it is now up to us to change the course of history and make this vision a reality.  Be a part of a global movement aligning with the company named the solution to save the Amazon Rainforest…your grandchildren will thank you!

What can we do?
Align with the Amazon Herb Co. because they work directly with the indigenous peoples, give them better lives, and educate them in sustainable harvesting.  With the help of the ACEER foundation, the company protects their land forever.  The company is able to protect the entire rainforest, but only if we vote with our dollars by simply benefiting from their healing products and spreading the mission and vision.

The company believes that when they reach one million people on MAS (monthly auto-ship), they we will have enough power to halt deforestation in the Amazon.

Join us and be a part of this revolution of healing and protecting our world.

More Detail On Why This is the Solution

The following was written by Dr. Leslie Taylor, an expert on Amazon preservation.  She explains why the Amazon Herb Co. can save the Amazon with our help:

The problem and the solution of the destruction of the rainforest are both economic. Governments need money to service their debts, squatters and settlers need money to feed their families, and companies need to make profits. The simple fact is that the rainforest is being destroyed for the income and profits it yields. This also means that if landowners, governments, and those living in the rainforest today were given a viable economic reason NOT to destroy the rainforest, it could and would be saved! And this viable economic alternative does exist, and it is working today. Many organizations have demonstrated that if the medicinal plants, fruits, nuts, oils, and other resources like rubber, chocolate, and chicle (used to make chewing gums) are harvested sustainably, rainforest land has much more economic value today and more long-term income and profits for the future than if just timber is harvested or burned down for cattle or farming operations.

In fact, the latest statistics prove that
- Rainforest land converted to cattle operations yields the landowner $60 per acre
- If timber is harvested, the land is worth $400 per acre
- However, if medicinal plants, fruits, nuts, rubber, chocolate, and other renewable and sustainable resources are harvested, the land will yield the landowner $2,400 per acre!
This value provides an income not only today, but year after year – for generations. These sustainable resources – not the trees – are the true wealth of the rainforest.

This is no longer a theory. It is a fact, and it is being implemented today (by Amazon Herb Co).  Just as important, to wild-harvest the wealth of sustainable rainforest resources effectively, local people and indigenous tribes must be employed. Today entire communities and tribes earn five to ten times more money in wild-harvesting medicinal plants, fruits, nuts, and oils than they can earn by chopping down the forest for subsistence crops. This much-needed income source creates the awareness and economic incentive for this population in the rainforest to protect and preserve the forests for long-term profits for themselves and their children and is an important solution in saving the rainforest from destruction.

When the timber is harvested for short-term gain and profits, the medicinal plants, nuts, oils, and other important sustainable resources that thrive in this delicate ecosystem are destroyed. The real solution to saving the rainforest is to make its inhabitants see the forest and the trees by creating a consumer demand and consumer markets for these sustainable rainforest products . . . markets that are larger and louder than today’s tropical timber market . . . markets that will put as much money in their pockets and government coffers as the timber companies do . . . markets that will give them the economic incentive to protect their sustainable resources for long-term profits, rather than short-term gain – and this is exactly what the Amazon Herb Co. is doing with the ACEER Foundation!

This is the only solution that makes a real impact, and it can make a real difference. Each and every person in the United States can take a part in this solution by helping to create this consumer market and demand for sustainable rainforest products. By purchasing renewable and sustainable rainforest products and resources and demanding sustainable harvesting of these resources using local communities and indigenous tribes of the rainforests, WE CAN ALL BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION, and the rainforests of the world and their people can be saved.  Don’t delay!

Amazon Herb Co. is providing support to many Indigenous communities in the Amazon. These villages have been challenged by many forces of change, including logging and oil exploration. Now, they have greater choices managing their land, their resources and their culture. Amazon Herb Co. is committed to supporting a positive, sustainable future for the Rainforest and its inhabitants.

AMAZON HERB CO. PARTNERS WITH ACEER

NEW PROGRAMS DELIVERED TO RAINFOREST CHILDREN

zamu empowerment aceer lg temp Why Do We Need the Rainforest?

Amazon Herb Co. has teamed up with the Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research (ACEER) Foundation to bring teachers and environmental education and programs to children in Rainforest villages.

ACEER creates, develops and implements environmental education programs in Indigenous communities of the Peruvian Amazon. These programs develop environmental awareness and sustainable use of natural resources.

To date, the program is improving the quality of education for more than 5,500 school children and over 300 school teachers in Iquitos City, in rural villages along the Río Itaya, in Puerto Maldonado and in rural villages along the Río Madre de Dios. With the commitment of Amazon Herb Co., the program is now expanding to communities in the Río Ucayali, Río Pisqui and Río Caco regions.

These programs provide a forum of sharing information and empower new visions and choices for a sustainable future.

RIO PISQUI FEDERATION

Amazon Herb Co. sponsored the formation of the Rio Pisqui Federation. This Federation represents all of the native communities along the isolated Pisqui River. As a united Federation, these communities will be better able to protect and defend their land, their way of life and their traditional knowledge. They will also be able to better provide education for their children, and safeguard their culture and their right of self-determination.

MR: John Easterling
AMAZON HERB COMPANY

Dear Sir:

As soon as we returned from our business trip to the city of Iquitos, the first thing I am doing is to take the pleasure in writing you these few words of gratitude and to once more express our deepest gratitude for the many attentions received from your worthy company. Words do not suffice to express that your kindness and supportive spirit have eternally sealed our gratitude. Thank you for all that you and your worthy Company have done for us. My only desire and good fortune gave me the opportunity of having you in our Native Communities of the Pisqui River, and I know that we will never be able to repay the exquisite care of which we have been the object.

Your friend Hildefonso Del Aguila Flores, President of the Federation, affectionately greets you.

AMAZON HERB CO. EMPOWERS AND DEFENDS PORVENIR NATIVE LAND RIGHTS

Porvenir, a small, Indigenous community was established over 70 years ago when two Indigenous families settled there. But it wasn’t until 2003 that the residents of the village of Porvenir were given legal ownership of the 13,000 acres of land sustaining them. It was the Amazon Herb Co. that came to the assistance of the people of Porvenir, spearheading the multiyear process of securing the deed, and then later providing attorneys and engineers to defend it in court when their rights were challenged.

This community of 200 Shipibos now enjoy the security of owning their 13,000 acres of land. Their vision of the future has now been changed for generations to come.
